ICON TRUTH MEME.

I'm sure many of you know how to participate in these. Here is a few things that I'll be doing in mine. I hope a lot of you comment with your icons AS WELL AS reply to other people, they're commenting for the same reason as you--to get feedback.

**HOVER YOUR CURSOR OVER THE ICONS TO "HIGHLIGHT". OTHERWISE IT WILL LOOK LIGHTER THAN IT REALLY IS.

• If you are posting your graphics...
→ post 10-20 icons that you've most recently made/best show your icon making skills/style.
→ post 5-10 banners/headers/etc if you make them.
→ if you would like a place to post your graphics and want to be "recruited" lol, put YES or NO in the subject :). I know I'm looking for new makers for my community ;)

• If you are giving feedback...
→ posting under your username or as anonymous is your choice.
→ be constructive with your comments; that's why people are commenting :)
→ don't be rude with your comments.
→ don't comment just when you do/don't like the icons-comment for both.

Okay that's it for the guidelines (though simple, it's all going to be in the textbox anyhow)

How did you do the text for the britney_stills header/banner? It's just so ... nice. Like its really smooth and not too overpowering - mine always end up looking out of place - I can't really describe it :/

I try to always use the Dropper Tool to get a color from the header itself or I'll just use white or something that matches either way. Then I just scroll through all my fonts until I find something that looks appealing. If your font looks choppy or something, change the anti-alias to "smooth". Though, in that particular I think it was set on "sharp" because the font "Plantagenet Cherokee" doesn't look bad in "sharp".

I love your use of textures and your coloring is great. Your use of text is well done too, I wish I could manage to use text, lol. Beautiful icons and your banners and headers are gorgeous. I love the 'welcome to redhour' one.

i love your coloring. And your close crop are amazing. i love 1, 4, and 5 sooo much.
I like how you play with fonts too.
But i don't like the last icon. i don't know. maybe the texture avoid me to see the person. but the rest are great!!

You seem to have very nice cropping in your icons :)

Really love that 2nd icon and the 7th!!

Cropping on the banners is also very nice but I particularly like the use of texture on the friends header :D

Your coloring is really nice, and simple too, it's not over the top or overpowering. Your cropping is well done on all. Your banners are nice as well, my favorite is the last. Also for icons, I love #1, 7, 8 because I love the subjects and the coloring/crop of them!

your coloring is all very nice
i also like how you played around with the cropping so that the subject is not always dead center in the icon
i dont even like britney, but i do think that the icons you made of her are quite lovely (espec # 9)

ICONS:
I think your coloring style needs improvement on some of them. For instance, the last icon is far too bright. A few seem to have that tan look about them. The images are also a little oversharpened and pixelated looking. Your cropping is nice though.

BANNERS/ETC.:
Your wallpapers are great, you blend the images very nicely.

Your colouring is very interesting and has a lot of variety. Some icons are a little oversharpened, but most are just right :).

ICONS:
Your cropping is well done. Your coloring is good but I think it's too blue, maybe take it down a little. If you're using PSP and Color Balance, make the blues closer to zero, and add a little yellow/red maybe. I've seen your icons before and you seem to use one font a lot (the one on #5), try playing around with different fonts. I do really like #8, I think it's because it's a nice crop and it has good contrast.

i do feel that coloring can be all very subjective. i admit that i do lean more towards the bluish if only because i like the muted effect more than the red and yellow where people can start to look orange (especially on my own resolution)
i'll try to and play around with fonts more (although i cant actually remember what font it is on number 5) i think i fall prey of liking one thing and continuing to use it (hence why 1 & 6 have the same font)

True. The blueish coloring does work for some, unfortunately sometimes it makes the people look purple lol. And with the font thing, I have the same issue often, I fall into the routine of using one font cause it works and forget to try others.

Both your coloring and cropping are great. I love how your coloring is vibrant but not overpowering, it's perfect. The fonts you use work great with your icons. I love #3, 5, 9, 10; the coloring and crop and just everything is perfect on them!
